Intro to Digital Audio 1

Description:
This class is designed for those just getting started in digital audio. Students will learn how to import, edit, mix, record, process, and export audio using the popular audio software, Pro Tools. In this class you will gain hands-on experience and dive into the waves of sound, learning the basics about the physics of sound and how sound is digitized. By the end of the class you will have a solid understanding of how sound and digital sound editing works, and understand how it can benefit your own creative process.
 
Objectives:
1. Understand core concepts of the physics of sound - the fundamental concepts of sound
2. Understand the basics of the analog to digital conversion process; sampling rates and bit depths
3. Import, edit and mix sounds
4. Understand the basics of recording an analog signal into a computer
5. Export your project into a standalone file format - .wav, .aiff, mp3
