Ryan Kleeman
Instructor / Engineer
Ryan Kleeman is a Recording Engineer, Sound Designer, and Audio Instructor. Ryan received his Master of Fine Arts in Audio Recording and Sound Design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ryan studied theatre sound design with Tom Mardikes, film composition and sound design with Greg Mackender, and audio art installation with Dwight Frizzell. Ryan was also a full-time Audio Staff Engineer for 4 years at the Conservatory of Music and Dance working under the tutelage of Chief Recording Engineer, Robert Beck.
Some of Ryan’s recent recording projects like “Ken Lovern’s Organ Jazz Trio featuring Bukeka Shoals” have had positive reviews in Keyboard magazine and local Kansas City Jazz publications. Anvil Chorus, a local Kansas City rock band has also received wide spread attention from their shockingly impressive 5 song Demo that Ryan recorded, mixed and produced for the band in May 2005.
In addition to working at Sound Arts, Ryan is an Assistant Engineer at Studio Guapo, and instructs audio production courses at The Art Institute of California-San Francisco, and The Bay Area Video Coalition.
